13th Jiangsu International Principal Forum

Jiangsu International Principal Forum is an annually organized gathering of primary and middle school principals all over the world. The forum in Tampere 2017 will be the 13th Jiangsu’s International Principal Forum. Jiangsu is an eastern province in China North of Shanghai, its capital is Nanjing and it is the wealthiest province in China by gdp per capita.

The two days conference’s purpose is to immerse in the theme of Curriculum Design and School Culture as well as strengthen the cross-border school cooperation between Nordic countries and China. The program consist of common gathering in Tampere Hall, opening ceremony, keynote speeches and workshops
Kristiina Volmari, Doctor of Philosophy, works as Counsellor of Education and Head of Information and Analysis at the Finnish National Agency for Education. She has also worked as a teacher at most levels of education and in vocational teacher education. Dr Volmari’s areas of special interest and expertise are comparative international education data, teachers and leadership. She has a thorough knowledge and understanding of European and global education and training issues through her cross-network work experience. Dr Volmari has had the opportunity to work for working groups of the EU Commission and participate in OECD studies and data collection as national representative.
Jouni Välijärvi is a professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Since 1996, he has served as director of the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. He has also been the National Project Manager of the OECD PISA since 1998 and represented Finland in the IEA since 1996 and as a member of many expert groups in the OECD, the European Union, the Ministry of Education, the National Board of Education, the Finnish Teacher Union, and the Council of Finnish Municipalities. Professor Välijärvi gives evaluations of Finnish school assessments and leadership based on PISA tests and opens Finnish schools’ outcomes in international contexts.
